Regular Tasks
Weekly or monthly Dhamma service is a great way to stay connected, help the center run smoothly and strengthen your practice. Here are some ways to get involved.
Day 0 Registration
- Welcome students and help get them acclimated to the center
- Show students to their rooms
Metta Day
- Answer questions students have about giving service
- Help students retrieve their valuables
Day 11
- Prepare cleaning supplies and materials
- Answer students’ questions about cleaning
- Help students retrieve their valuables and arrange transportation
Between Course Service:
- Help out with cooking and kitchen tasks
- Help get the center ready for the next course
Grounds And Garden
- Seasonal maintenance of garden beds
- Caring for trees and shrubs
- Trail maintenance
- Maintenance of tents and platforms
Maintenance
- Minor electrical and plumbing repairs
- Maintenance of tools, equipment and machinery
Additional “Adopt-a-Jobs”
- Restock and organize supplies (medicine cabinet, household supplies, spices, etc.)
- Day 11 Laundry
- Check vacuum cleaners and replace vacuum cleaner bags
- Clerical and office help
